New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is an annual program facilitated by the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost for new tenure-track, tenured, and term faculty members. This orientation provides information on teaching, research/creative activity, and life at the University of Minnesota, as well as interaction with other new faculty.
This year’s orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Campus Club. Faculty will learn about resources to kick start their careers at the University.
In addition to New Faculty Orientation, consider participating in the following:
- If you are in the Medical School, consider also signing up for one of the Medical School orientation sessions.
- If you are in CLA, consider also signing up for the CLA New Faculty Teaching Orientation Series.
- For faculty from all colleges, the New Faculty Program is a year-long program with participation from many offices, which acknowledges engagement with professional development opportunities offered throughout the University. Faculty are welcome to participate in this program during the first five years of their career at the University.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with benefits and other employee resources, the University’s self-service web portal MyU, and information technology resources before you attend New Faculty Orientation.
