Faculty-driven organizations

Faculty and Academic Affairs sponsors and supports three faculty-driven organizations within the University. These groups contribute to the advancement of quality teaching, research, and service at the University.

Academy of Distinguished Teachers

The Academy of Distinquished Teachers is a forum through which its members provide valued leadership to the University, serving as mentors, advisers, and spokespersons for the University’s teaching mission.

Women's Faculty Cabinet

The mission of the Women’s Faculty Cabinet is to improve and enrich the academic and professional environments for women faculty at the University of Minnesota and to ensure that the University continues and strengthens its commitment to the success of its women faculty members.

Women and Girls of Color Engagement and Research Initiative

The University of Minnesota is participating in a National Collaborative to Advance Equity Through Research. This partnership, which is coordinated by the Anna Julia Cooper Center at Wake Forest University and which was initially inspired by the White House Council on Women and Girls, foregrounds research on and with women and girls of color to create conditions in which they can thrive.
