New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is an annual event facilitated by the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost for new tenure-track, tenured, and term faculty members. This orientation provides interaction and information on teaching, research/creative activity, and life at the University of Minnesota.

This year we will host ongoing sessions for new faculty throughout the semester starting with a virtual welcome program where they will be introduced to Provost Croson and learn about resources to kickstart their careers at the University. This first meeting will be held on Monday, August 31, 2020 starting at 9 a.m. Tentative schedule below, details forthcoming.

New faculty will receive an email invitation to NFO in July when registration opens. Please feel free to email vpfaa@umn.edu at any point during the year to ensure that a faculty member's name is on our invitation list.

In addition to New Faculty Orientation sessions, our office hosts the New Faculty Program. Faculty are welcome to participate in this program during the first five years of their career at the University.
