We strive to foster a culture at the university that welcomes, encourages, supports, and sustains a diverse faculty as they achieve excellence in research, teaching, service, and public engagement. Through our efforts related to faculty development, new faculty orientation and ongoing support, faculty recognition and awards, faculty productivity and assessment, faculty recruiting, the Women’s Faculty Cabinet, and academic leadership development, the office facilitates faculty success and promotes scholarly excellence.
Located with the Provost’s Office, we work collaboratively with other units on campus to facilitate faculty review, offer opportunities for faculty/leadership development, improve our campus climate for our diverse faculty body, ensure robust communication between faculty governance and administration, and advance excellence in teaching and learning through the Center for Educational Innovation. In sum, we seek to make the University of Minnesota an environment that allows faculty to advance their careers, disciplines, and the larger society.
